The plateau and the national park are named after the prominent table mountain that rises from the plateau, the Waterberg (Water Mountain in Afrikaans), that rises up to 200 metres. This ecological diverse National Park has over 200 species of birds and rare game such as Black and White Rhino, Buffalo and Sable. The best way to explore it is by foot on a series of trails that lead up to the summit.
